Programs are held at the Main branch of the Wayne Public Library & Wayne residents get preference for sign-up availability. Registration can be done online by visiting the Event Calendar above, beginning at the designated time on the registration date.

NOTE: If you are unable to attend a program, please kindly call the library in advance. This will allow others on the waiting list to attend the program, as well as prevent waste of materials.

Knitting 101

Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 3:30—5:00 PM

Young Adults in grades 5—12, are you interested in learning how to knit? Come join us as we relax and learn the basics together. Feel free to bring in your own knitting needles and yarn. Supplies are available thanks to generous donations. Please note: some knitting needles have pointy tips so use with care.

Online registration begins Monday, April 17th at 7:00 AM.

WPL Y.A Chess CLub

Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 6:00—7:30 PM

Come and develop your strategic skills and challenge a new opponent. Young Adults in grades 5—12 are welcome to play chess against our chess mentor Mr. J or each other.

Morris Museum Astronomical Society presents: Observe the Sun

Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 2:00—3:30 PM

Joe Molnar joins us from the Morris Museum Astronomical Society with a special solar observing program that will let us to see and learn all about our sun. This is a unique that allows us to see the surface of the sun safely through special telescopes.

Young Adults in grades 3rd—12th & parents are welcomed. Online registration begins Monday, April 17th at 7:00 AM.


Rain Maker Activity

Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 3:30—4:30 PM

Legend says that the Native Americans could call rain to their lands whenever needed by using rain sticks that reminded spirits to bring rain to the people. Call your friends and come make a rain stick of your own, as well as expand your knowledge on Native American history. Most of all, don't forget to have fun! Please join our fellow CommuniTeen Sakshi, as she show us how to make a rain shaker in honor of the spring season.

Teen Creates! Design Your Own Trinket Box

Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 4:00—5:30 PM

Let’s join Miss Regina, the craft instructor, to learn how to design a one of a kind box for someone special.

Open to Young Adults in 5th through 12th grade. Online registration begins Monday, April 24th at 7:00 AM.

Come join and learn how to make a new spring snack with Miss Natalie, MS, RD, the Retail Dietitian from ShopRite of Wayne. She will teach us all the steps you need to know for this recipe. This program is for Young Adults in 5th through 12 grade. *Please be aware this may not be an allergy-friendly program.
