Programs are held at the Main branch of the Wayne Public Library & Wayne residents get preference for sign-up availability. Registration can be done online by visiting the Event Calendar above, beginning at the designated time on the registration date.

NOTE: If you are unable to attend a program, please kindly call the library in advance. This will allow others on the waiting list to attend the program, as well as prevent waste of materials.

Marshmallow Challenge

Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 5:30—6:30 PM

Calling all Teens your engineering and teamwork skills will be tested tonight as we see who can build the tallest structure! Open to Young Adults in grades 5—12.

Rated PG-13, Run Time: 2 hours 17 minutes

A dark force threatens Alpha, a vast metropolis and home to species from a thousand planets. Special operatives Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe. Feel free to bring your own snacks. Open to Young Adults in 5th through 12th grade.

WPL Y.A. Chess CLub

Come and develop your strategic skills and challenge a new opponent. Young Adults in grades 5 through 12 are welcome to play chess against our chess mentor Mr. J or each other.

Knitting 101

Young Adults in grades 5—12, are you interested in learning how to knit? Come join us as we relax and learn the basics together. Feel free to bring in your own knitting needles and yarn.

A Valentine’s day treat! We will learn how to make a delicious snack using chocolate with Natalie, MS, RD, Retail Dietitian from ShopRite of Wayne. This program is for Young Adults in 5th through 12 grade. *Please be aware this may not be an allergy-friendly program.

CommuniTeens Meet

Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 5:30—6:30 PM

Fun, friends, and food! Calling all Teens! Captain America, Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Thor and Ironman need your help! Create superheroes for our new Young Adult Graphic Novel Banner. Open to Young Adults in 5th —12th grade.

Chinese New Year

Friday, February 16, 2018 from 2:00—3:15 PM

Let’s celebrate the Year of the Dog with New Year nibbles and learn about this celebration. Natalie, MS, RD from ShopRite of Wayne, will be teaching us how to make a healthy snack and we will learn to fold an origami heart with a dollar. Please bring a one dollar bill for this program. *Please be aware this may not be an allergy-friendly program. Open to Young Adults in 4th through 9th grade.
