Programs are held at the Main branch of the Wayne Public Library & Wayne residents get preference for sign-up availability. Registration can be done online by visiting the Event Calendar above, beginning at the designated time on the registration date.

NOTE: If you are unable to attend a program, please kindly call the library in advance. This will allow others on the waiting list to attend the program, as well as prevent waste of materials.

Teen Calendar for March 2018

WPL Y.A. Chess Club

Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 6:15—7:30 PM

Come and develop your strategic skills and challenge a new opponent. Young Adults in grades 5 through 12 are welcome to play chess against our chess mentor Mr. J or each other.
Online registration starts Thursday, February 15th at 7:00 AM.

When a pilot crashes and tells of conflict in the outside world, Diana, an Amazonian warrior in training, leaves home to fight a war, discovering her full powers and true destiny. Open to Young Adults in 4th through 8th grade. Online registration starts Saturday, February 17th at 7:00 AM.

Teen Snacks

Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 4:00—4:45 PM

Come and learn how to make a Spring snack! Natalie, MS, RD, the Retail Dietician from ShopRite of Wayne, will teach us how to make something delicious and nutritious. This program is for Young Adults in 5th through 12 grade. *Please be aware this may not be an allergy-friendly program.

Teen Creates

Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 5:00—6:00 PM

Ms. Regina, our craft artist, will show you how to make a one of a kind no-sew bag. Please note: Bring a smock or an old t-shirt. We will be using permanent alcohol inks that will stain your clothing. Young Adults in grades 5—12 are welcome.

Safari Hunt Adventure

Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6:00—8:00 PM (approx.)

Tween-age Gamekeepers: come have a grand adventure as you track down hidden clues in order to find and protect some lost animals! Everyone has their own clues to find and proceeds at their own pace, so everyone wins, and learns how to be a junior ranger! Open to Wayne kids in grades 3rd – 9th.
Online registration begins Friday, February 23rd at 7:00 AM.

Maker's Day: Handy Dandy

Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 5:30—6:30 PM

Students create their very own Robot hand. They experiment with the element of tension while manipulating the action-reaction pair of forces acting at the end of the hand’s strings and try to get their Robot hand to perform various tasks. We will learn about the challenges and the limitations of duplicating the flexible movements evident in human hands into robotic limbs. Open to Young Adults in grades 5—12.

Good Vibes with MalletMan

Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 6:00—7:00 PM

We are excited to welcome Jason "Malletman" Taylor. He has an extensive music career and is a five-time Grammy ballot nominee. Come and watch him play with a pair of mallets that fly high up into the air as he demonstrates the unique sounds of his vibraphone. Open to Wayne children in 3rd grade & up.
