Teen Programs
Programs are held at the Main branch of the Wayne Public Library & Wayne residents get preference for sign-up availability. Registration can be done online by visiting the Event Calendar above, beginning at the designated time on the registration date.

NOTE: If you are unable to attend a program, please kindly call the library in advance. This will allow others on the waiting list to attend the program, as well as prevent waste of materials.

WPL YA Chess Club

Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 6:15—7:30 PM

Come and develop your strategic skills and challenge a new opponent. Young Adults in grades 5—12 are welcome to play chess against our chess mentor Mr. J or each other.

Teen STEM: Center of Gravity with Paper Planes

Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 2:15—3:15 PM

(No school in Wayne today)

Students will learn how a paper airplane’s flight can be affected by altering their center of gravity. Open to Young Adults in grades 4th through 12th.

Online registration begins Tuesday, October 23rd at 7:00 AM. 



Teen Creates: Autumnal Salt Paintings

Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 4:00—5:00 PM

Abstract or realism? It’s up to you. Come and experiment fall’s array of rustic colors with cool textures. Open to Young Adults in 5th through 12th grade.

Online registration starts Wednesday, October 24th at 7:00 AM.



Straw Rocket Challenge

Friday, November 9, 2018 from 2:00—3:00 PM
(No school in Wayne today)

We will be put to the test as we become rocket engineers and ultimately launch these rockets into the air! This is a hands on STEM-based project that will allow students time to explore how gravity. Open to Young Adults in grades 4th through 12th are welcomed.

Rated PG-13, ©American Empirical Pictures, 2018 – 1h & 45min An outbreak of dog flu has spread through the city of Megasaki, Japan, and Mayor Kobayashi has demanded all dogs to be sent to Trash Island. On the island, a young boy named Atari sets out to find his lost dog, Spots, with the help of five other dogs... with many obstacles along the way. Open to Young Adults in grades 4th—12th.

Ready - Set - Go -To- College

Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 4:00—5:00 PM

A workshop for middle school, ninth, and tenth graders on how to prepare for eleventh grade college search. This will be an informative interactive discussion on how you can be the best candidate for college acceptance with experience director Mr. Gilbert, from College Search Counselor at College Choice. Open to Young Adults in 8th through 11th grade.
