Programs are held at the Main branch of the Wayne Public Library & Wayne residents get preference for sign-up availability. Registration can be done online by visiting the Event Calendar above, beginning at the designated time on the registration date.

NOTE: If you are unable to attend a program, please kindly call the library in advance. This will allow others on the waiting list to attend the program, as well as prevent waste of materials.

BookFace Photo Contest

Sunday, October 1—Sunday, October 29th

In celebration of Teen Read Week any Wayne Young Adults in grades 6—12, can send us your best Book Face! Be creative and replace your face with a book cover and send us your picture.
Email your BookFace photo to jorgensenl@waynepubliclibrary.org by October 29th! Please use in the subject line: BOOKFACE and include name, grade and contact information in the email.

Winner will be contacted on October 30th.

Knitting 101

Young Adults in grades 5—12, are you interested in learning how to knit? Come join us as we relax and learn the basics together. Feel free to bring in your own knitting needles and yarn.

Online registration begins Wednesday, September 20th at 7:00 AM.

WPL Y.A. Chess Club

Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 6:15—7:30 PM

Come and develop your strategic skills and challenge a new opponent. Young Adults in grades 5—12 are welcome to play chess against our chess mentor   Mr. J or each other.

Online registration starts Wednesday, September 20th at 7:00 AM.

Monster Hunt Adventure!

Friday, October 6, 2017 from 6:00—7:30 PM

Teens in grades 5—12 will participate in a grand adventure as they track down and capture a lurking monster! In the process, learn research skills, employ deductive reasoning, and work cooperatively. Every participant has his or her own clues to find and proceeds at his or her own pace, so everyone succeeds and is rewarded with a Monster Detective Badge! Snacks will be served.

It's Teen Read Week: Let's Talk Books!

In celebration of Teen Read Week we will discuss the latest books we’ve read and what we liked about them.  In addition, you can bring any stories & poems you would like to share and have a chance to win some sample YA books.

Teens Make Halloween Goodies

Come join and learn how to make a Halloween snack! Natalie Gillett, the Retail Dietician from ShopRite of Wayne, will teach us all the steps to make a Halloween treat. This program is for Y.A.s in 5th—12th grade. *Please be aware this may not be an allergy-friendly program.*

Fun, friends, and food! We will participate in some fun ice breaker games and collaborate with our peers on a creative project. Open to Young Adults in 5th—12th grade.
