Teen Programs
Programs are held at the Main branch of the Wayne Public Library & Wayne residents get preference for sign-up availability. Registration can be done online by visiting the Event Calendar above, beginning at the designated time on the registration date.

NOTE: If you are unable to attend a program, please kindly call the library in advance. This will allow others on the waiting list to attend the program, as well as prevent waste of materials.

History Mystery Hunt with Jason Edwards

Friday, December 6, 2019 from 5:00—7:00 PM

Search for a historic treasure just like Indiana Jones, Lara Croft and Carmen Sandiego! Follow mysterious trails, uncover hidden clues, decode secret messages, and solve baffling riddles to track down the treasure chest!

Open to Wayne kids in grades 3rd through 12th. Online registration begins Friday, November 22nd at 7:00 AM. 



The Art of Dawn: Name Fun

Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 5:15—5:45 PM

Come join in the fun and decorate an igloo as the Penguins get ready for a party at the South Pole. Using a variety of candies we will make and decorate a holiday igloo and partying penguins. It’s party time at the South Pole. Allergy information: Although none of the items used contain nuts, some are processed in a facility that also process tree nuts and/or peanuts.

Open to young adults in 5th through 12th grade. Online registration starts Thursday, November 28th at 7:00 AM.

Ready--Set--Go--To-- College

Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 4:00—5:00 PM

A workshop for middle school, ninth, and tenth graders on how to prepare for eleventh grade college search. This will be an informative interactive discussion on how you can be the best candidate for college acceptance with experience director Mr. Gilbert, from College Search Counselor at College Choice.

Open to young adults in 8th through 11th grade. Online registration starts Tuesday, December 3rd at 7:00 AM.

Earn volunteer hours by joining the CommuniTeens! Call for more details.

• Be an advocate for the library among peers
• Create library programs and advise on the collection

WPL Y.A. Chess Club

Teen Creates! Dodecahedron Calendar

It’s 2020! Let’s celebrate the New Year by make a unique and useful calendar. In geometry, a Dodecahedron is any polyhedron (a solid figure with many plane faces) that has twelve flat faces.

Open to young adults in 5th — 12th grade. Online registration starts Wednesday, December 18th at 7:00 AM.



MAJOR + MONEY + ME = COLLEGE

Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 4:00—5:00 PM

The beginning of a search for a college that fits the needs and wants of a student is one of the most important steps in the college search process. This interactive workshop will encourage a student to choose what they want their college experience to look like. We will explore three distinct aspects of the process: MAJOR + MONEY + ME = COLLEGE. Open discussion in each section is welcomed and encouraged. Each student will actively work in their own workbook and leave the workshop with the crucial elements needed to begin their unique college search.

Open to young adults in 9th—12th grade. Online registration starts Wednesday, January 1st at 7:00 AM.
