Wayne Public Library's Adult Summer Reading Program
Sponsored by the Friends of the Wayne Public Library

Adult Summer Reading begins July 1 and ends on August 31, 2017 @ 9 PM - Sponsored by the Friend's of the Wayne Public Library!

Program Rules
  • You must be a Wayne Resident and have a Wayne library card and be 18 years of age and up.
  • Pick up a reading log at the Main Library Adult Reference Desk or at the Preakness Branch Library!
  • All you have to do is Read a book, or Listen to an Audiobook or Watch a Movie!
  • Log each book you read, audiobook you listen to, or movie that you watch in your reading log.
  • You must present your Wayne Library Card and have a librarian initial each completed item in your log
  • For each completed book/audiobook/movie completed you will get one lottery ticket, to put in the lottery box for a chance to win a prize!
 
You will have a choice of which lottery ticket prize(s) you wish to enter:

1- $25 Shop Rite Gift Certificate – provided by Shop Rite

Summer Knit & Crochet Club with Book Discussion - "Build a Better World with Knit & Crochet Squares"

Book Title: Cast On, Kill Off by Maggie Sefton

Dates: June 21, 28 ; July 12, 26; August 2
Time: 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.

Registration for advanced beginners to experienced knitters & crocheters, begins June 12th at 9:00 AM- Online or by phone 973-694-4272 Ext.5401 Last day to register is June 20 by 9:00 pm.


Build a Better World – Recycle an old book with Book Origami!

“Crafter Extraordinaire” Kathy Alkan will demonstrate how to do book origami. You will also create your very own masterpiece!
Registration is limited to 15 people per session so please register early!

Main Library Session - Wednesday, August 9th 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. (approx.)

Preakness Branch Library Session - Wednesday, August 16th 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. (approx.)

Build a Better World – Functional Food: Berries and You Perfect Together!

Keep You in Stitches" Knit & Crochet Group members will be keeping in step with our Summer Reading Theme: "Building a Better World with Knit and Crochet Squares!" We are requesting that the squares be
9 inches. They can be knitted or crocheted. Pattern stitch handouts will be supplied during the meetings from June 1 through August 3. The squares will be joined to create blankets for sick children, ages from newborn to teens in the Goryeb Children's Hospital in Morristown.
